Daniel Ladurner

Your Host

Daniel Ladurner is not only a passionate host, but also an enthusiastic mountaineer and ice climber. Having grown up among the apple orchards of his family home, he has known the surrounding peaks since his youth. Whether ice climbing or ski touring in winter, rock climbing in spring or mountaineering in summer, the mountains are far more than a hobby for Daniel. Thanks to his experience, he knows not only the most beautiful routes, but also how diverse the mountain experience can be: from active adventures to relaxed moments in nature. This is what makes your time in the mountains personal, authentic and truly unforgettable.

Farm Products

Authentic and Sustainable

What grows on our farm is real, natural and lovingly made. In our garden, greenhouses and orchards, fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs and sweet fruits ripen with the seasons – all cultivated using biodynamic principles and harvested by hand. From these ingredients, we create delicious homemade specialties: jams, syrups, fruit juices and more, perfect for your breakfast or as a small souvenir from our carefully curated farm shop. Everything is handmade, honest and full of flavor.

Sustainability is especially important to us: a large part of our energy needs is covered directly on the farm through photovoltaic and solar systems. This allows us to live and work in harmony with nature.

A Place with History

High above Merano, on a sunny slope in Cermes, rises the small Castle Stein, first mentioned in documents in 1217. For many centuries, it was the seat of the princely court “Judge of Stein” and played an important role in the region. The mighty stone walls still tell of this vibrant past and make Stein unter Lebenberg a truly unique place, where history comes alive and your farm holiday in South Tyrol begins.

18th to 19th century

From Court to Farm

After the relocation of the court to Lana, the former castle grounds gradually transformed into a farm. The fertile slopes were soon used for growing apples and cultivating vineyards, as well as for livestock farming. For generations, farming traditions, rural life and family history have shaped this unique place and continue to do so today. Since 1858, the estate has been owned by the Ladurner family, who continue to run it with passion and respect for tradition.

Daniel Ladurner runs the farm with passion and a strong sense of sustainability, fully in harmony with the history of the place and with a clear vision for the future.
